Updated Covid-19 Vaccines (2023)

On September 12, 2023, the FDA approved the use of the updated COVID-19 mRNA vaccines for use in the 2023-2024 season for those aged 6 months and up. Immunization remains the best way to protect against long COVID, hospitalization, death from COVID-19. Long COVID is a set of chronic (long-term) side effects you may experience even after recovering from COVID. These symptoms may include: fatigue, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, pounding heart, chest pain, cough, difficult concentrating, depression/anxiety, joint/muscle pain, or rashes.

The updated COVID-19 vaccine is monovalent and includes the XBB.1.5 variant, which comprises most of the COVID-19 cases circulating as we enter the Fall 2023 season. The updated vaccine will be available at the Prescription Shop by October 2023.
